We know that sometimes it can be the little things that make all the difference.

Our team are trained to carry out small home repairs and adaptations to help you maintain your independence and move around your home safely.

The Legion can support you with jobs such as:

  • Putting up shelves, hanging pictures and mirrors
  • Changing light bulbs and security light installation
  • General plumbing, including fixing or replacing leaking taps
  • Fitting smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Fitting and changing door locks and other security features
  • Installation of grab rails and access ramps

Our advisors are also able to offer advice and guidance alongside our help at home team – supporting you or your loved ones to access any services you might need. This can range from care assessments and grant funding through to understanding more about power of attorney or assisting with isolation.

To find out more about how we can help please give our team a call on 0808 802 8080 or email info@britishlegion.org.uk.

Our care phones can also provide vital support for the Armed Forces community at the touch of a button.

Care phones are personal alarms worn on your wrist or around your neck that, when activated, alert a 24-hour response centre. It serves as extra protection in your home to provide reassurance and support, especially if you:

  • Are unwell or disabled
  • Have recently left hospital
  • Have been a victim of burglary
  • Live in an area with high crime levels
  • Live alone

Your care phone is activated simply by pressing a button worn on your wrist or around your neck. A friendly operator will assess your situation and send emergency service help if required.
