Finance and Commercial

Our Finance & Commercial Department is all about making sure we can do what we do best—support the Armed Forces community. Our teams manage our finances, drive income through exciting commercial ventures, and ensure we use every penny wisely.

From overseeing budgets and securing great supplier deals to running our Poppy Shop and other retail initiatives, the teams keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Formed of circa 400 staff (excluding care homes), the Royal British Legion's Services department is at the heart of our mission to stand beside the Armed Forces community, delivering life-changing support when it's needed most.

Care Homes

Part of our wider Services department, we operate six care homes across England, which offer specialised support for veterans and their families, providing nursing care, dementia support, and rehabilitation. Our award-winning homes focus on delivering compassionate care in a community environment.

Digital, Data and Technology

Our Digital, Data, and Technology department is transforming how we support our customers, supporters, members, and beneficiaries. By using data and technology, the teams improve decision-making, systems, and ensure our services are efficient and accessible.

They create innovative digital tools and platforms that support fundraising, outreach, and care, keeping the Royal British Legion connected.

Our People & Organisational Development (POD) department supports our employees, members and volunteers in making RBL a brilliant place to work.

Director General

Our Director General department includes our Campaigns, Policy, and Research and Private Office teams. The Campaigns, Policy and Research team works across the UK with politicians and officials at all levels of government to bring the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant to life and further the interests of the Armed Forces community.

The Private Office plays a pivotal role in supporting our National President, National Chairman, National Vice Chairman, and Director General with the day-to-day running of their offices.

National Memorial Arboretum

The National Memorial Arboretum is a place of Remembrance, reflection, and discovery. Set in 150 acres of beautiful grounds, the Arboretum is home to over 350 memorials, including the iconic Armed Forces Memorial, and thousands of trees that will grow and mature for generations to come.

We offer a wide range of roles across visitor services, events, catering, horticulture, education and more – all supporting our mission to help people connect with stories of service and sacrifice. Whether you’re welcoming guests, planning events or helping to care for our grounds, you’ll be part of a friendly, passionate team that makes every visit meaningful.

Membership

Our Membership department connects with, supports and guides approximately 185,000 members and 2,000 branches in the UK and overseas, provides governance support to elected members, and manages the individual member experience.

Poppyscotland

Poppyscotland supports the Armed Forces community in Scotland through welfare services, campaigning, and the iconic Scottish Poppy Appeal.
