While some help us all year round, others come together every year for our annual Poppy Appeal. All provided vital new ways for the public to support throughout 2020.
Our Poppy Appeal partners lead on many of these innovations, ensuring that as many people and their communities as possible were able to get involved with the Appeal.
A Poppy Appeal partner for over 25 years, Sainsbury’s pioneered safe ways to give without
using cash this year. Customers could donate or pick up a poppy whilst doing their shop in-store or online. In addition, there will be was a range of poppy merchandise available in selected stores and online.
Many of the UK’s major supermarkets, including Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA and Lidl also helped us by distributing poppies in the stores. Morrisons customers were able to donate at the till and online.
Alongside supermarkets, Lloyds Bank and Santander customers were also able to support the Appeal when they visit their local branch by making a donation.
We have also just become an official partner of online banking provider, Revolut. If you’re a Revolut customer, you can round up your spare change or set up recurring donations to give effortlessly. You can also make a one-time payment to give a set amount to the Legion. There’s no minimum donation amount and the Legion will receive 100% of your donation.
