National Express helps share the symbol and message of the RBL with the nation. During the Remembrance period, they decorate their coach fleet with the RBL’s iconic poppy logo and collect donations across their coach and bus depots and stations.
Between 2013 and 2024, customers booking coach travel online could add £1 to their ticket, with all proceeds donated directly to the RBL. Over this period, customers contributed more than £70,000 through the scheme.
The company also offered free travel to our Break Centres in Southport and Weston-super-Mare until their closure, helping to cover the travel costs of Service families visiting the centres for a much-needed holiday.
More recently, National Express has expanded this support to include travel to our Bravo 22 arts for recovery initiative.
National Express were the first organisation to sign the Corporate Covenant - a voluntary pledge from businesses and charitable organisations who wish to demonstrate their concrete support for the armed forces community. They also offer guaranteed interviews to Service leavers, the UK's largest travel discount for serving personnel at 60 per cent off standard fares and extra annual leave for staff in the Reserve Forces.
