National Express coach with the Legion's logo showing our partnership with National Express

National Express helps share the symbol and message of the RBL with the nation.

During the Remembrance period, the company decorates its coach fleet with the RBL’s iconic poppy logo and collects donations across its coach and bus depots and stations.

Since the partnership began in 2012, National Express has donated more than £120,000 to the Royal British Legion and its beneficiaries. Between 2013 and 2024, customers booking coach travel online were able to add a £1 donation to their ticket, with all proceeds going directly to the RBL. Through this initiative alone, customers contributed more than £70,000.

National Express also provided free travel to the RBL’s Break Centres in Southport and Weston-super-Mare until their closure, helping Service families access much-needed respite breaks. More recently, the company has expanded its support to include travel assistance for the RBL’s Bravo 22 arts recovery initiative.

National Express was the first organisation to sign the Corporate Covenant - a voluntary pledge by businesses and charities demonstrating tangible support for the Armed Forces community.

In addition, National Express continues to support the Armed Forces community through employment and travel initiatives, including guaranteed interviews for Service leavers and travel discounts of up to 30% for serving Armed Forces personnel and 15% for Armed Forces families through the Defence Discount Service.
