RBL Girlguide bade

The Royal British Legion are proud to partner with Girlguiding through an official product range.

Girlguiding is the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated completely to girls. All girls have a home at Girlguiding. Across the whole of the UK, an amazing 80,000 volunteers help over 300,000 girls aged 4-18 to know that they can do anything and face the challenges of growing up today.

For a long time, Girlguiding members have attended Remembrance Day parades, with some units even raising money locally for RBL.

Following the success of the first year of our partnership in 2019, we’ve continued to work with Girlguiding to create a woven and metal pin badge every year as well as special commemorative badges for the VE Day 75 and VE Day 80 anniversaries.

We also developed materials to help volunteers engage girls with the topic of Remembrance through activities.

This year’s badges highlight the inspiring Girlguiding members who supported the vital ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign to help tackle the crippling food shortages during and after the second world war. The campaign encouraged communities to grow their own food in any free space they had available including gardens, parks and even rooftops. The badge design shows a guiding member in period uniform harvesting vegetables in a field.

These products provide a fantastic opportunity for Girlguiding members to support The Royal British Legion during Remembrance. The profits from all products in the range are split equally to support both organisations.
