We are proud to be in our fourth year of partnership with Dartmouth Brands and their brand AVI-8.
Since May 2021 the RBL has been collaborating with the brand AVI-8 to create limited-edition timepieces inspired by aviation and military history. To date, AVI-8 has raised over £78,000 for the Royal British Legion through the sale of these timepieces.
For June 2024, AVI-8 is proud to unveil the Spitfire D-Day 80 Royal British Legion 24-hour Automatic Bronze Limited Edition watch. This exclusive timepiece commemorates the 80th anniversary of Operation Overlord, the historic Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II.
The dial of the Spitfire D-Day 80 watch serves as a poignant reminder of history's defining moments. Notable references, such as the first Allied landings on Utah and Omaha beaches at 6:30 am on June 6th, 1944, are meticulously marked on the dial, followed by Gold, Sword, and Juno. Additionally, a hydraulic press poppy adorns the bottom layer of the dial, symbolising remembrance, and honour. The iconic poppy motif is further featured on the crown, hands, case back, and buckle, encapsulating the spirit of commemoration.
The timepiece is limited to 250 pieces, £35 from each sale supports the RBL’s vital services for Veterans and their families.
Ben France, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the Royal British Legion, said, "We are delighted that AVI-8 has created the Spitfire D-Day 80 Royal British Legion timepiece to commemorate this significant anniversary. The legacy of those who served during D-Day lives on in the freedom and democracy we have today, and it is important we never forget their contribution. £35 from the sale of each timepiece will go towards ensuring the RBL can continue to support veterans, serving personnel, and their families whenever they need us."
