The Royal British Legion is proud to partner with Golden Charter, one of the UK’s largest independent providers of funeral plans in the UK*.
For every pre-paid funeral plan sold by the company and participating independent funeral directors, a £25 donation is made to the Legion.
Since September 2016, Golden Charter and its network of independent funeral directors has raised over £135,000, exceeding their initial target to raise £100,000 in their first year of partnership.
The independent funeral directors who work alongside Golden Charter have also supported the Legion by dedicating their own time during Remembrance to decorate Poppy window displays, and host fundraising events.
Ronnie Wayte, CEO of Golden Charter, said: “Supporting The Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland, and through them the Armed Forces community, is important to many of us at Golden Charter, our network of independent funeral directors and, indeed, our customers.
“The partnership was launched at an excellent time, allowing us to make an important mark on the Poppy Appeal 2016. We will continue to make our connection to The Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland clear throughout the year, as we work together to raise as much money for the Armed Forces community as possible.”
Claire Rowcliffe, Director of Fundraising at The Royal British Legion, said: “The funeral profession is all about appropriate commemoration of our loved ones who have passed. Through this partnership with Golden Charter we hope to continue to keep alive the memory of the fallen in our Armed Forces community and support the future of the living.”
