If you have applied for a War Pension or Armed Forces Compensation and are unhappy with the outcome you have the right to appeal the decision to an independent tribunal.
Similar to the initial application, the appeal process is managed by Veterans UK.
Learn more about Veterans UK on the RBL Knowledge Base website.
How to appeal
Download the appeal form below to begin your application. The form contains information about how to return it to Veterans UK by post after you have completed it.
You will have one year to make your appeal after you have been notified about the decision.
The Tribunal may admit late appeals but you will have to explain why your appeal is late and your reasons will be considered on a case-to-case basis.
You will need to explain in your letter or appeal form why you think the decision is wrong, but do not have to go into great detail at this stage.
Support from the Royal British Legion
If you would like to make an appeal our team may be able to help you during the process and represent you at a tribunal for free. Additionally, whether you are eligible for compensation from the MOD or not, there may be other ways that the Royal British Legion may be able to support you.
