Poppy Ride for The Royal British Legion is a brand new multi-distance cycle event. As you pedal through the picturesque Staffordshire countryside you will have a chance to push your ride capabilities alongside veterans from The Battle Back Centre.

The 35km, 60km and 115km routes will start and finish at The Battle Back Centre, a facility that supports wounded, injured and sick Service personnel. The Centre exists to help people achieve their best possible recovery and either return to Service duty or to make a smooth transition to civilian life.

Event information

Entry costs just £28 for the first 100 registrations, before increasing to £33, but if your fundraising hits £200 then you'll receive a Legion jersey.

There are three different Poppy Ride distances on offer:

  1. Long Ride: 115km/71 miles - View the provisional route
  2. Medium Ride: 60km/38 miles - View the provisional route
  3. Short Ride: 35km/21 miles - View the provisional route

There will be multiple feed stations on both routes and you'll be supported throughout the event.

We'll start in waves, where riders will be released at 5-10 minute intervals. There will be options to join ability groups or a development group for those wanting to learn more about riding in a group. Each group will be led by experienced Legion ride captains so you can focus on the challenge ahead.

Take on our Poppy Ride and your entry will include:

  • On site parking
  • Choice of three professionally designed routes - you can even change your mind on the day
  • Fully marked and timed event, with online results available after the ride
  • Medical and mechanical support throughout the ride, including a sweeper vehicle and fully stocked feed stations
  • Unique finishers medal
  • Post ride on-site catering and sports massage also available
