Taking part in Remembrance gives people the opportunity to recognise the personal sacrifices made by men and women, past and present, to protect freedoms we enjoy today. Our age-appropriate resources:

Key Stage 2
During Remembrance people stop to remember those who have served and sacrificed, from armed forces and emergency services to civilians, whilst hoping for a peaceful future.
Our themed resources can be used to engage a young audience with Remembrance through:
- Creative writing, music, poetry, art, film and photography to inspire learning
- Discover who serves to protect us and how we can remember them
- Suitable for 7-11 year-olds

Key Stage 3
Remembrance recognises those who serve to defend our freedom and way of life. It provides an opportunity to appreciate the sacrifices of the Armed Forces community from the UK and across the Commonwealth, as well emergency services and volunteers who help during times of national crisis.

Poems for Remembrance with Nikita Gill
On 1st October, poet and writer Nikita Gill led two poetry writing workshops for Primary school pupils exploring Remembrance. Sharing her poem 'Who You Are,' Nikita introduced pupils to a variety of different poetry writing techniques, concluding the event with a live Q&A.

Remembrance Live Assembly 2024
On Monday 11th November, in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, we will host a live-streamed online assembly for ages 9 to 14 (years 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9). Presented by Mwaksy Mudenda and Ben Shires, the assembly will bring together films exploring D-Day 80, music, poetry, interviews with veterans and authors and more to help students understand who, why and how we remember.

We have created Remembrance resources in partnership with Cadets, Girlguiding, Cadets, and Scouts for young people to connect and engage with Remembrance.
