Our free Remembrance Assembly is back for 2026
We’re inviting young people aged 9-14 to be part of the Remembrance community this year by watching our special assembly programme on 11th November. They’ll be guided by our amazing host, TV and radio presenter Shanequa Paris, as they explore who, how and why we remember.
About the Remembrance Assembly
The Remembrance Assembly is a free online learning event which brings children together from across the UK on Armistice Day. With music, poetry, voices from the Armed Forces community, inspiring locations and plenty of creative ways to remember, it’s the ideal way to help young students aged 9–14 connect with Remembrance.
This event is created by the Royal British Legion in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, and available with English and Welsh subtitles and British Sign Language versions. The Assembly will be streamed via YouTube and Zoom from 10.25 – 11.05 on Wednesday 11th November.
This year the Remembrance Assembly will focus on Community – the community who work to keep us safe, and the Remembrance Community we are all a part of. However, and wherever you watch the Remembrance Assembly this year, you and your students will be helping us share an important message – Remembrance is for everyone.
Who is this event for?
This event is for students aged 9-14 (Years 5,6,7,8 and 9) and can be viewed from schools, libraries, home education and other learning settings across the UK.
