One of Britain’s best-loved carvery brands is raising funds for The Royal British Legion.
Toby Carvery has decided to make the Legion its official charity partner for 2017-2018 and aims to raise an incredible £100,000 to support our cause.
The brand, which is part of the Mitchells and Butlers Group and serves over 21 million meals every year, has pledged to raise funds to help us with our vital work.
Toby Carvery’s 167 UK restaurants will fundraise for the Legion throughout the partnership. Veterans will be offered free meals on Armed Forces day and Armed Forces families will be given a chance to come together over a free meal at their local restaurant.
Some of the proceeds from a new menu item chosen by Toby Carvery customers and staff will go towards our charity: for every Jam and Coconut Sponge pudding sold, 25p will be donated to the Legion.
Mike Aldridge, Retail Operations Manager at Mitchells and Butlers and former Royal Marine, said: “I’m delighted that Toby Carvery will be working with The Royal British Legion as our chosen charity partner over the next two years. Many of our guests and team members have personal connections to the Legion and we understand the great work they do to support active and veteran members of the Armed Forces and their families. As a former Royal Marine, I believe this is a great partnership between two brands that have similar values, and I know that the Toby guest community will enjoy the various fundraising events and activities we have planned, such as Veterans’ Breakfast and Remembrance Collections.”
Claire Rowcliffe, Director of Fundraising at the Legion, said: "We’re incredibly pleased that Toby Carvery has chosen to support The Royal British Legion. We look forward to working together in a unique partnership, raising much needed funds that will help us to continue our work providing vital support to the Armed Forces community.”
