Team UK at the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023

At the sixth Invictus Games we supported 59 veterans and serving personnel, plus their friends and family, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence.

The determination, strength, passion, team spirit and personal achievements of every single Team UK member was nothing short of inspiring. And their journeys are just beginning.

James Rogers - Team UK Captain

"A few years ago, I couldn’t go to the park with my kids, so I want to show them what I’m able to achieve now."

Lieutenant Commander James Rogers has been selected as Team UK captain and is returning for his second Invictus Games after competing in cycling and swimming 2022.

A serving member of the Royal Navy, James lives with ankylosing spondylitis, a long-term autoimmune inflammatory arthritis condition which affects his mobility, causing full-body pain and chronic fatigue.

"Representing my country, and the Armed Forces, and to top it all off, being selected as team captain, is an absolute honour and privilege."

"Sport has always been a big part of my life, and now it will be part of my ongoing recovery"
