Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) is an independent charity that provides medical welfare services to those who serve the nation and community when they are in the patient care pathway.

The DMWS works with patients when their medical needs are being met but are still facing other issues, problems or social influences that may be distracting them from their recovery.

They provide 24-hour emotional and practical support to Armed Forces personnel, their dependent relatives and entitled civilians in operational areas and in static locations in the UK, Germany, and Cyprus.

The DMWS works in partnership with the Royal British Legion and other charities to support people in the Armed Forces community who are sick, injured and wounded, and receiving hospital care.
