When someone serves, their family serves too - your support matters
When someone serves, their family serves too. They face months apart, sudden relocations, and the worry that comes with loving someone in uniform. And when crisis hits like injury, bereavement, or financial hardship they need our support. We are here for serving personnel, veterans, and their families. For life. Your donation today means we can be there whenever they need us.
“I didn’t think RBL could help us. I thought it was only for veterans. I was wrong”
CHANTELLE WYNN
Following the loss of her husband Ryan, who experienced PTSD after serving in Afghanistan, Chantelle was left to cope with overwhelming grief while supporting her two daughters. Unsure whether the Royal British Legion could help families like hers,
she reached out and was connected with Annette, a dedicated caseworker who provided practical and emotional support when it was needed most. From helping the family through their first Christmas without Ryan to arranging a restorative family holiday,
the Royal British Legion gave Chantelle and her daughters the stability, reassurance and support they needed to begin rebuilding their lives.
With the support of kind people like you, we were able to:
- Help Chantelle navigate complex paperwork and access vital records
- Connect her with legal guidance during the inquest
- Provide emotional support when she had nowhere else to turn
- Ensure her daughters received presents at Christmas
- Deliver food hampers when everyday tasks felt impossible
- Fund a much-needed family break, giving them space to begin healing
Today, Chantelle and her daughters are moving forward while keeping Ryan’s memory alive. When someone serves, their family serves too.
When families face life’s toughest moments, The Royal British Legion ensures they never face them alone. Your donations make this possible.
