Walk through a Centenary Wood which commemorates the sacrifices made in WW1, you’ll hike through stunning landscapes in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We’ll make sure you have everything you need to have a brilliant day of hiking, fundraising & remembering those who have given so much for our freedom. Whether you come in a group or on your own, this is the perfect adventure for anyone looking to get outdoors, immerse yourself in history and challenge yourself to hike the great outdoors.
By taking part, you’ll be helping to raise vital funds and awareness so that we can continue to support serving & ex-serving personnel, and their families, for as long as they need us.
On this Surrey Hills hike you’ll be able to remember a loved one and those who have served.
Distances:
- Long – 21 miles
- Medium – 15 miles
- Short – 6 miles
- *Routes are subject to change, due to weather conditions and other external factors, which may slightly affect distances. We’ll be in touch about any changes you need to be aware of.
Timings
- 06:00 – Event Village opens
- 06:30 – First walkers set off
- 18:00 – Event Village closes
Location
All routes start and finish at Epsom Downs Race Course, Tattenham Corner Rd, Epsom KT18 5LQ. Routes will take you though the picturesque Surrey Hills and North Downs.
Transport
If travelling by public transport, as the hike starts quite early, we recommend the night tube (Northern Line) to Morden station and then getting a pre-booked taxi to Epsom Downs.
If travelling by car we have free on-site parking (this is a large gravel car park). Spaces are limited but we will have overflow options nearby.
Accessibility
We advise that you choose the route to suit your ability, most of the walk is off-road terrain so is not fully-accessible. If you have a specific question about the routes or any additional support you may require on the day please email us at [email protected].

Can I take part on my own?
Yes absolutely, our professional team will be there to support you all the way. It’s not a race so please do walk at your own pace. You can walk with your friends, family or choose to walk alone.
Please note this event is only open to ages 14 and over. Ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18.
Can I take part as part of a team?
Is it guided or sign posted?
Can I bring my dog on the hike with me?
What facilities will be available?
- There are toilets located in the Event Village but not on route.
- The Event Village will have water so you top up water bottles, you’ll also be given snacks and full lunch to enjoy on the walk.
- A bag drop service will be available in the event village.
