Cranmore Tower is an amazing 19th century Victorian folly that was once a lookout tower for the Home Guard and Royal Corps of Signal in World War II.
The tower offers spectacular views from the East Mendip range in Somerset. Built in the 1860’s by local Stone Masons, the Tower, which has 184 steps, still stands today proudly overlooking the countryside and offering spectacular views from over 1000 ft above sea level.
On a clear day, you can enjoy views of Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire from the tower. Even the edge of Wales can also be seen on an extremely clear day, as well as county views of Glamorgan and Monmouth across the Severn channel.
No experience is necessary and full training will be given by our professional abseil suppliers on the day of your abseil.
Entry fee is just £10 per person with a minimum sponsorship of £100 per person.
Participants must be 8 years old or older, and all participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Due to harness size, maximum weight is 20 stone.
Once you have registered for the abseil, you will be sent a fundraising pack and allocated a time and day for your abseil.
