VJ Day 80

Remembering VJ Day

80 Years On

On August 15, we will mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day - Victory over Japan - and the end of the Second World War with a Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum.

Hosted in partnership with the Government, the commemorations will pay tribute to all those who served in the Far East and the Pacific, with attendees including Second World War veterans and 400 members of the Armed Forces.

Watch the event live on BBC One from midday on Friday 15 August following a national two-minute silence at midday.
