Presented by newsreader Sonali Shah, we're shared stories and memories from those who served and sacrificed during the Second World War, as well as recognising the difficulties people are experiencing today.

  • 00:57:00: Author, real food activist and sustainability champion, Melissa Hemsely shared her recipe for VE Day fritters inspired by Victory Gardens and rationing.
  • 01:02:16: Bill Taylor Royal Navy veteran shared his memories of life as sea and VE Day.
  • 01:10:25: HRH The Princess Royal spoke to Dorothy Pettican Runnicles.
  • 01:15:10: Former Blue Peter Presenter Radzi Chinyanganya shared his journey of retracing his grandmother's war time steps.
