London Poppy Day is the flagship fundraising event for the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal and will take place on 29th October 2026.
This one-day city charity collection is a unique volunteering opportunity where you can collect donations alongside over 1,000 currently serving personnel from the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, and over 2,000 veterans, volunteers, and supporters.
What to expect:
- Complimentary travel on the TfL network has been granted for authorised volunteers only on London Poppy Day itself, 29th October
- Complimentary travel with Network Rail has been granted for authorised volunteers only. This covers one standard class return journey between a 'home' station in Great Britain and any London Terminal. The travel offer applies on London Poppy Day itself, plus one day either side of the event (28th - 30th October)
- Volunteers provided with food vouchers if volunteering for the day
- Volunteers need to be available for at least two hours, though there is an option to volunteer for the entire day if preferred
Volunteers have been at the heart of the Poppy Appeal for over 100 years, and by supporting us on London Poppy Day you’ll help make a real impact on the lives of veterans and their families.
