Poppy Wearing

Wearing a poppy shows you care

There are over 2 million Armed Forces veterans in the UK. The Royal British Legion supports them whatever the need, whenever it's needed.

When a veteran’s life falls apart, RBL helps rebuild it.

Wearing a poppy shows you care and helps us continue our vital work.

Why wearing a poppy matters?

Wearing a poppy is a simple yet powerful act of remembrance.

Each poppy honours every life lost in service and shows support for those still living with the impact of conflict.

Our support starts after one day of service and continues through life, long after service is over.
Poppy Meaning

What the poppy means

Our red poppy represents all those who lost their lives on active service, from the beginning of the First World War right up to present day.

It also recognises the courage of our Armed Forces, the dedication of civilian services, and the innocent lives lost through conflict and terrorism.

For the Armed Forces community, it’s a visible symbol of gratitude and respect - a reminder that their courage and sacrifice are never forgotten.
