The Royal British Legion is proud to offer our Youth Affiliation Scheme to all our local communities. These schemes help to foster mutual support and encouragement between our RBL branches and youth organisations. The initiative aims to build strong community ties and promote shared values.
What is a Youth Affiliation Scheme?
The Youth Affiliation Scheme is an agreement between a local Royal British Legion branch and a youth organisation. By joining the scheme, both parties commit to supporting each other's aims and objectives, providing help and encouragement within the community.

How to Apply?
Step 1: Agreement of Affiliation
- All Affiliation requests should be discussed between the youth organisation lead and the local RBL branch lead. The RBL branch will then complete an affiliation application form, ensuring that both parties understand and respect each other's aims and objectives.
- Using designated points of contact from the application form, a member of RBL staff will review and if appropriate, approve the affiliation. They will work with the local County to ensure they are involved in the process. An ‘Agreement and Notification of Affiliation’ will then be sent to the branch and Youth Organisation contact for both to sign and return, via Docusign.
- Once agreement has been confirmed, the youth organisation will receive their RBL Youth Affiliate certificate, this will be sent from the Membership Engagement Administrator.
Step 2: Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. Your personal information will be used solely for registering the affiliation and will be kept secure. For more details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Step 3: Badge and Plaque ordering
Uniformed affiliated units can order official badges for their members for their uniform.
All affiliated units can order plaques for the units. These can be purchased via the local branch by cheque or BACS. Orders are consolidated monthly and delivered to the branch.
