Join the Royal British Legion in remembering our Armed Forces this November, start crafting today to create your own poppy in time for Remembrance. Send us your completed poppies by mid-October and they could be part of our London Poppy Day remembrance displays.

What is the Poppy Crafting Event about?

The Poppy Crafting Event is an annual event organised by the Royal British Legion, taking place in September and October. We are inviting beginner and advanced knitters to knit or crochet their very own poppy for Remembrance Day and to support the vital work that the Royal British Legion does for the Armed Forces Community.

Join a community of crafters making a difference by fundraising for us

This year, we invite you to be part of something even bigger. Why not set yourself a challenge and ask friends and family to sponsor you to make poppies! When you sign up for a knitting or crochet pattern, we’ll set you up with a fundraising page. There, you can share your progress with your community and keep on raising vital funds for our veterans, our currently serving personnel & their families.

What will I do with my poppy?

Once you’ve crafted your poppy, you can wear it, gift it, or send us your completed poppies and they will form part of our London Poppy Day remembrance displays.

What is London Poppy Day?

London Poppy Day is the flagship fundraising event for the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal.

This one-day charity collection is a unique volunteering opportunity where you can collect donations alongside over 1,000 currently serving personnel from the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, and over 2,000 veterans, volunteers, and supporters.

Every Poppy you make helps support those who serve

With your support, together, we could provide a lifeline for serving and ex-serving members of our Armed Forces and show our thanks to those who have risked their lives for us. By taking part in the 2026 Poppy Crafting Event, you aren’t just supporting those that serve, but the family members that stand behind them too.

Please consider an optional donation to help cover the cost of your pack.
