Understanding the Needs of the UK Armed Forces Community

The Armed Forces community Needs Analysis is a research project by the Royal British Legion.

Launched in 2022 and updated regularly, it brings together the most robust data available to understand the size, demographics, needs, and available support for the UK’s Armed Forces community – including veterans, serving personnel, and their families.

We are currently working to improve estimates of the size and needs of the bereaved Armed Forces community as part of this ongoing project.

This evidence base helps the Royal British Legion and the wider sector shape better policy, improve services, and target support more effectively
