The Royal British Legion’s 2025 Poppy Appeal has raised an incredible £56.6 million for the Armed Forces community, the highest total since before the Covid-19 pandemic.
The total is due to the incredible generosity of the public and the dedication of thousands of volunteers across the UK. The 2025 Poppy Appeal saw 32 million poppies and 135,000 wreaths distributed nationwide by a record-breaking 59,000 volunteers.
From villages to cities across the country, communities come together each year to play their part, raising money through sponsored poppy walks, runs and bike rides, as well as raffles and street collections.
The money raised by the Poppy Appeal is vital in enabling the RBL to provide lifelong support to the Armed Forces community, including veterans, serving personal, their families and the bereaved.
In 2025 the RBL:
- Supported more than 20,000 households throughout the UK and across 65 countries
- Secured £25.2 million in compensation or benefits for veterans
- Awarded £9.3 million in grants to Armed Forces families to help with accommodation, food, clothing and essentials
- Awarded £6.8 million to specialist organisations, reaching around 13,800 people
- Supported more than 1,600 people through recovery and wellbeing programmes
- Responded to more than 115,000 calls, webchats and emails via our call centre
- Provided dementia support, through our Admiral Nurses, to more than 1,400 households
The RBL also funds Team UK at the Invictus Games, operates six care homes across the UK, and helps individuals with war pensions and compensation claims.
London Poppy Day, Europe’s biggest street collection, raised an incredible £1.478million in one day, helped by broadcaster and RBL supporter Rob Rinder MBE, who said:
“The incredible total raised this year will make a real difference to the lives of veterans, serving personnel and their families. I was proud to play a part on London Poppy Day, and I want to thank every volunteer and every supporter who helped make this appeal such a success.
“The Poppy Appeal is a powerful reminder of how the public respond with extraordinary generosity to our Armed Forces community, and how vital that support is in helping the Royal British Legion.”
Lucy Inskip, Director of Poppy Appeal at the Royal British Legion, said:
“We are so grateful to every member of the public who showed their support this year and every volunteer who gave their time.
“The Poppy Appeal is only possible because of people’s compassion, generosity and commitment to remembering those who have served.
“Thanks to them, we can ensure that the Armed Forces community are getting the support they need whenever they need it.”
The Royal British Legion extends its heartfelt thanks to all supporters, volunteers and partners who made this year’s appeal possible. Without them, this work would not be possible.
If you would like to play your part and support the Armed Forces community, the Royal British Legion welcomes new volunteers for this year’s Poppy Appeal.
