This annual Festival,
held at the Royal Albert Hall, commemorates and honours all
those who have lost their lives in conflicts, and is both a moving
and enjoyable evening. There is a matinee (2pm) and an evening
performance - both are exactly the same except that the Royal
Family attend only the evening performance.
Last year's Festival featured Rod Stewart, performing
Sailing and Auld Lang Syne, Alexandra Burke, Russell Watson
and the Military Wives Choir, alongside the Massed Bands
of the Household Division, the Band of HM Royal Marines, the
Queen's Colour Squadron and the RAF Squadronaires.
The Festival of Remembrance is broadcast by the BBC -
BBC1 Saturday 9.15pm - 10.50pm and BBC Radio 2 Saturday 8pm -
9pm. Please check your local guides for details.
A special video or DVD of the Festival of Remembrance is
available soon after the event from the Legion's Poppy Shop - www.poppyshop.org.uk.
