The Branch met in the village hall on Monday 1st September. There was much official correspondence to deal with after the long summer break.

LIGHTS OUT 4th August - It was reported that the vigil in West Felton Methodist Chapel was well supported by the other churches and organisations in the village. Members are grateful to them and to Rev’d Tony Sparham for their cooperation. The Methodist Chapel committee donation of £48.20 for the Poppy Appeal was much appreciated.

CARNIVAL - The Branch Carnival float “Crimson Field” achieved 2nd prize.

NESSCLIFFE Day of Remembrance 16 August - Four members attended. Memorial displays representing the village of West Felton were installed in the Officers’ Mess. The WF branch tent was highly decorated and attracted a steady stream of visitors. More than £170 was collected for the Poppy Appeal. Seven Legion Standards attended the Drumhead Service from around the county.  There was a vote of thanks to Bob Spencer for his work.

POPPIES - A letter was sent to the Head Teacher at WF school to thank them all for the big paper poppies which have now seen service in three WW1 occasions and were admired by all who saw them.
