POPPY APPEAL 2019/2020

The Hayfield branch are going from strength to strength and we estimate that this years total should be in excess of  £17,000.00....... at present we stand at £16,800.00 but we have till end of September 2020 to reach our target.

This years Poppy Appeal 2019/20 got off to a fairly good start with the launch in New Mills by New Mills Council Chair, Cllr Linda Grooby selling the first lot of poppys raising £270.00 on a very cold, wet & windy day.

Our poppy appeal launch in the village started with a fantastic Quiz & Hot Pot supper night at the Kinder lodge Pub raising a tremendous £422.00. It was packed to the rafters and thanks to Graeme & Julia Clarke for the donations and a great night. 

We followed on with our annual concert at St Matthews Church Hayfield on the 2nd November. This year we had the Poynton Royal British Legion Concert Band and Chapel en le Frith Male Voice Choir  providing a great night of music, song & entertainment.This brought us in £700 plus for the Poppy Appeal.

The SYCAMORE PUB & RESTAURANT BIRCH VALE kindly hosted the annual Love new Mills Quizitit night and raised over £150. 

This year the Wincle Brewery raised over £500.00 from the cask & bottled beer and they provided a great social afternoon for all the veterans and supporters. 

So all in all a great start for this years appeal.     

Finally, a big thankyou to everyone including all the shops, pubs and bussiness who allow us to leave a collecting box and the people who kindly donate every year.
