Universities, colleges or schools
Calling all Cadet groups across the country to help us collect for the Poppy Appeal.
You need to be over 16 to collect in the street but younger cadets can also get involved if an adult is in charge. If you want to collect on a high street, tube or train station, we will need to organise a license. Cadet Groups can also pack bags, collect in a local supermarket or help count money at one of our offices.
We have some great ways for community groups to volunteer with us. Volunteering on one of the National Memorial Arboretum’s working weekends is a great opportunity to have a fun time together while helping to maintain the beautiful surroundings and of the memorial.
You can also collect for the Poppy Appeal with your group, or hold a Poppy Picnic. If you want to collect on a high street, tube or train station, we will need to organise a license, and please speak to your local council or landowner to hold a picnic in a public place.
Serving and ex-Service personnel
Collecting for the Poppy Appeal is a great experience. If you’re serving or ex-Service, we would love you to join our team. Volunteering for the Poppy Appeal is a great way to support the Armed Forces community, whether you collect with your regiment or group, help deliver boxes of poppies in your local area or count money.
We encourage serving or ex-Service personnel to volunteer in uniform and wear medals - you’ll be amazed at the support you get from the public!
Through your employer
Get your company behind the Poppy Appeal and take on a collection location near your office. Our regional fundraising teams will give you available dates for locations near you and will support you plan your collection day. We can provide you with posters, adverts and information for your staff area and intranet to help you recruit volunteers.
We'll also drop off and pick up the collection tins and permits you need, and let you know how much your company has collected. Staff can volunteer for as little as half an hour - you’ll be amazed at how much you can collect in a short time!
There are also promotional opportunities with volunteers who stand in areas of high footfall. We’re happy to assist you make the most of these opportunities.
