British troops in Falklands

On the 40th anniversary of the Falklands Conflict, we remember all those impacted by the conflict.

On 14 June 2022 veterans of the campaign and their families, bereaved family members, and civilians who supported the Armed Forces came together for a commemorative event at the National Memorial Arboretum

Highlights from the Falklands 40 Commemorative Event on 14 June 2022
Hosted by Sir Max Hastings, the event featured a live link up with the Falklands Islands for the two-minute silence, as well as a fly past and an address from Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The Falklands War

Lasting 74 days, the Falklands War was the first military action since the Second World War that utilised all elements of the Armed Forces, with 255 British personnel losing their lives.
