The Legion is calling on all local authorities to improve the measures they take to support members of the Armed Forces community who are feeling lonely or socially isolated, specifically by including loneliness and social isolation and its effects on the Armed Forces community in Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs) and Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategies (JHWS).

You can read our Loneliness and social isolation: Briefing for local authorities which includes key findings of the Legion’s research and information on how the Legion can support residents who may be affected by loneliness and social isolation in your area.

Please email publicaffairs@britishlegion.org.uk if you have any questions or would like any further information about the work of the Legion in helping to tackle loneliness and social isolation in the Armed Forces community.
