D-Day veteran June Denby

Remembering D-Day: June's story

Like many young women in the Second World War, June was employed as a driver. And a month after the D-Day landings in June 1944, aged 19, she found herself on the way to France.

Based at a camp in Bayeux, June drove senior officers to various camps, often travelling 300 miles a day.
