Veteran residents in care home

A care home exclusively for the Armed Forces community.

Set in the popular seaside resort of Cromer, on the Norfolk coast, Halsey House is a beautiful historic building which was used as a hospital in the First and Second World Wars. The residents’ shared experiences in the Armed Forces create a truly unique and supportive community, where everyone looks out for one another.

For more information about Halsey House or to arrange a visit, please call 01263 512 178 or send an email and a member of our team will be in touch.

Quality of life is important to us and we offer a variety of social events and outings in our two minibuses. We encourage our residents to go shopping, pursue hobbies and attend clubs.

We also make sure there’s plenty to do for residents, including indoor bowls, bingo, tea dances and crafts. On Sunday afternoons a visiting chaplain holds a religious service in our main lounge.

In the dining room, we offer a varied menu to suit all tastes as well as special diets. In addition, there is a licensed bar where residents can socialise with family and friends. A variety of lounges are available, offering a comfortable and homely atmosphere.

Who can stay?

We provide short and long-term care for serving personnel, veterans, and their dependants.

We have a community of men and women of varied ages and abilities. We’re dedicated to supporting not only serving and ex-serving personnel, but the whole of the Armed Forces community, including dependants and carers. This includes serving personnel, or those who have previously served, who have received one day of pay.

Prior to admission, we require:

  1. our residents to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (“fully vaccinated” as defined in Government regulations and guidance for England) unless they are exempt and

  2. where applicable, for proof of vaccination to be provided. If you cannot comply with this criteria prior to admission, please contact us to discuss your individual circumstances and your options.
