You may remember Poppy Walks, well Poppy Quest is the new name for these popular walking events. We provide you with a map and a series of questions to navigate a route around the city. It’s a 10k challenge, testing your legs and stretching your mind along the route too.
We are sorry to announce that we are unable to go ahead with Poppy Quest 2020.
This decision follows the Government advice surrounding Covid -19, unfortunately the event can’t currently go ahead in a format that would ensure everyone’s health and safety is assured.
If you were already registered to take part in Poppy Quest 2020 you will automatically be transferred over to the next event in July 2021 when we look forward to being outside together showing our support for the Armed Forces community.

One thing we like to do with our Poppy Quest events is to change things up a bit each year so you’ll never do the same walk twice. We’ll have a completely different set of questions to answer and the route will get you to explore even more of your town/cities hidden secrets.
We try to ensure we keep Poppy Quest events in the same locations each year however we have to be careful about how much we spend to ensure that we raise enough money for our veterans, serving personnel and their families. We’re really sorry if there isn’t a Poppy Quest near you this time or if we have moved locations. In the future, we hope Poppy Quest events will spring up across the country.
We endeavour to send your t-shirt 2 weeks prior to the event taking place. If you register after this point you may still receive your t-shirt through the post however if you don’t, there will be an opportunity to collect one or exchange your size at the race village.
Registration fees only help to cover the event costs – so fundraising is really important in helping serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. We’re asking each adult to raise £50 and get the kids involved to help them too.
Your donations enable us to make a huge difference to the lives of those that we support in our Armed Forces community. Every year we are able to save lives, save marriages, keep families together, alleviate poverty, prevent homelessness, and improve physical and mental health – these are all life changing events enabling those we support to live safe, secure and fulfilling lives.
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive a welcome email containing all the information and advice you need for raising money for the Legion. Posters to publicise your participation in the event and collection pots are also available on request. In addition, the Legion team are on hand to support you every step of the way!
We’ll include all the information you need in your registration pack when you sign up to the event. You'll also receive a link to set up your online JustGiving page. Please remember to send us the link to your page so we can ensure all donations are credited to you.

Yes, if you are a UK tax payer. You cannot claim Gift Aid on a donation from a public collection or fundraising event, unless each individual donor has submitted a Gift Aid Declaration. For more information, please read our Gift Aid information.
This year, we have a special prize in store for participants that raise £100 or more in sponsorship. You can pick this up on the day by coming to the Collection Point and showing us your JustGiving page or your sponsorship form. Please note that if you are fundraising in a team you will receive one prize per £100 raised.
We ask that all sponsorship monies are sent to us no later than eight weeks after the last day of the event.
The course is approximately 10km, and there are plenty of opportunities to stop off at cafes around the route.
Anyone can take part in Poppy Quest so feel free to bring all your friends and family along to the event.
Yes, of course. Many of our supporters sign up for the challenge as an individual - this is a great way to meet new friends. If you want to come along by yourself, we’ll have a buddy up area in the event village so you can meet fellow walkers on the day. Alternatively, you can join our Facebook group page and ask some of your fellow Poppy Questers.
Yes, we always try and ensure our routes are easily accessible and that people of all abilities can take part. In some cases where stairs may be present then there will always be an alternative in place.
Yes, all our routes are dog friendly so feel free to bring them with you at our Poppy Quest events. Please make sure they are kept on their leads throughout the duration of the event and that you clean up after them.
Yes, we are always on the look out for volunteers for this event. You could be involved with helping us to set up/pack down the event, register participants, marshal the route, or hand out medals to all the participants after their challenge.
