Registration

Why is there a limit on the number of kids per adult?

To make sure everyone has a good time we need to ensure that there is one adult for every three children. You’d have to be a brave person to try and keep up with more than three!

How do I register two adults and less than three children?

If you’d like to register a group size that isn’t on the registration form, give our friendly team a call on 0333 011 4500 and they will be able to help you with your booking.

My child is 13-18, why can’t they take part?

Our obstacles are designed for adults and young children to safely complete as a team. Teenagers are still very welcome to come and cheer you on through the course though.

Can I register a kid even though I’m not their parent or legal guardian?

Safety is our number one priority (closely followed by fun!). If you’re not the parent/legal guardian of the child you will need to send us written permission from the parent/legal guardian for you to look after their child. After you've got that, call our support team on 0333 011 4500 and they will book you onto the event.

Can adults enter on their own?

No. There’s lots of mud runs out there for the grown-ups which is why we wanted to make a special event where kids and adults can take part together. Why not check out one of our other amazing sports events?

Why isn’t there a Muddy Mayhem near me?

This is the first year of Muddy Mayhem, and we have to be careful about how much we spend on new events to ensure that we raise enough money for our veterans, serving personnel and their families. We’re really sorry if there isn’t a Muddy Mayhem near you, in the future, we hope Muddy Mayhem events will spring up across the country.

When will I get my t-shirt and medal?

You and your Mud Squaddies will receive your t-shirt at the event. Your medal will be given to you in all your muddy glory as you cross the line by one of our amazing volunteers.

Fundraising

How much do I have to fundraise?

Registration fees only help to cover the event costs – so fundraising is really important in helping Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families. We’re asking each adult to raise £150 and get the kids involved to help them.

How can I pay in my fundraising?

The easiest way to fundraise is by setting up a JustGiving Page. Simply visit The Royal British Legion's JustGiving page and click the 'Fundraise for us' button. You can also post a cheque or sponsorship form with your name and the event you’re fundraising for to:

On the day

How long is the course?

The course is approximately 2 miles, but if your mud squaddies are bouncing with energy you can do a second lap.

Do we have to do all the obstacles?

No. You can walk, jog or run around them.

Will there be a bag drop?

Yes – although try not to bring the kitchen sink with you!

Will there be changing facilities?

This is going to be muddy and there will be some large tents, for you to dry and change. Unfortunately, a shower will have to wait until you get home.

What is the wheelchair access like?

Muddy Mayhem is an off-road event and subsequently not suitable for wheelchair users. However, we are working with our partners to make our event village wheelchair friendly for supporters. For up to date information, please contact events@britishlegion.org.uk.
