Volunteers - we need you!

Fundraising for the Legion

London Poppy Day

On Thursday 1 November in 2012

Each year, a group of serving and ex-Service volunteers collect at tube and mainline stations across Central London during the morning and evening rush hours. In 2011, our volunteers collected nearly £450,000 - twice the amount raised in 2010 and within striking distance of the targeted £500,000.

This year they're aiming even higher!

London Poppy Day, Leadenhall Market 2009

If you are serving or ex-Service and working in London, then this is a great event to be involved in. If you would like to join in on London Poppy Day then please get in touch with our London Poppy Appeal team. We are looking for both collectors and leaders, who are prepared to take on new tube stations. We provide all the admin support - so all you need to do is rally the troops! We would also love to hear from you if you can play the pipes or can provide some fitting music on the day.

Collecting teams will be at tube stations across zone 1 so please let us know if you have a preference. If you would like to set up a collection at a station we don't already cover then let us know.

It's also a great day to be out and about in the city. This year we will have bands across the City at lunchtime including the following locations:

  • Covent Garden
  • Canary Wharf
  • Waterloo, Marylebone, Charing Cross, Green Park, Liverpool Street Stations

This London Poppy Appeal google map shows the locations where collectors will be and/or are needed.
