B2B 2012 itinerary
Belgium, with its friendly and welcoming people, is a land of
contrasts and, within its boundaries, lie the beautiful old Flemish
town of Ieper (Ypres) and the cosmopolitan city of Brussels. You
will visit both of these places, as we reintroduce Bike to Brussels
in June 2012.
Day one
(Friday 8 June)
LONDON
7.04pm train from St Pancras
CALAIS
Your journey will start at St Pancras International as you board
the early evening Eurostar to Calais. We will take care of your
bikes as they head separately to Calais to join you!
Day two
(Saturday 9 June)
CALAIS
95km
IEPER
After a good night's rest in Calais, you will travel at a
civilised pace along the picturesque lanes of the Pas de Calais
before crossing over into Belgium, and arriving at the ancient town
of Ieper. Once there and settled, you can either enjoy this lovely
town at your leisure or join us on a tour of the battlefields and
cemeteries of WWI. That evening we will participate in a moving and
memorable ceremony as the last post is sounded at the wonderful
Menin Gate memorial.
Day three
(Sunday 10 June)
IEPER
100km
BRUSSELS
Your final day of cycling sees you on your way to Brussels. You'll
find the approach slightly more challenging with a few hills to
contend with, as well as the cobbles and tram lines in the city.
Following your arrival, we'll all enjoy a celebratory dinner before
you discover the delights of Brussels. Your bike will be on its way
back to St. Pancras International as you put your head down in
Brussels.
Day four
(Monday 11 June)
BRUSSELS
2.56pm train from Brussels Midi
LONDON
Following a well-deserved kip, you can have a lazy start to the
day before the early afternoon Eurostar whisks you back over to
London, where you will be
reunited with your bike at St. Pancras.
