Fundraising for the Legion
Major Gifts & Charitable Trusts
How you can help
Are you
able to make a major gift, or do you know someone who might be
interested in doing so? Could you open a door to a prospective
donor or host a small briefing event?
Major gifts can be spread over a number of years, providing essential funding now and in the future, and all gifts from UK taxpayers can be made tax-efficiently.
For more information about any of the projects below, or to discuss how you might be able to help, please contact the Major Donors & Trusts team by email or write to us at Major Donors & Trusts, The Royal British Legion, 199 Borough High Street, London SE1 1AA.
Current projects
The benefits of major gifts and charitable trusts lasts a lifetime and provides the support that our Armed Service family desperately needs.
Some of the worthwhile projects that have been funded by generous donations include:
- Personnel Recovery Centres - The Legion working with the MOD and Help for Heroes in funding Personnel Recovery Centres in the UK and Germany, where injured Service personnel can get the help and care they need to get back to their best.
- The Battle Back Centre - The Battle Back Centre will officially open in autumn 2012 and will be a national centre of excellence for adaptive sport and adventurous training to help Service personnel recover and either return to duty or reskill and make a successful transition to civilian life.
- The Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies - This centre is the first collaboration of its kind in the UK, where civilian engineers and scientists work alongside military doctors to reduce the effects of roadside bombs or Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
- Poppy Care Homes - Our six homes vary in size from 47 bedrooms to 76 bedrooms. Each is a safe, well-equipped environment, which is intended to be a real home, somewhere that our residents can feel comfortable, for however long they stay.
