Fundraising events

As custodian of Remembrance, The Royal British Legion is best known for the Festival of Remembrance and our annual Poppy Appeal.

However, as well as our more traditional events, we also organise a whole range of events throughout the year and there are lots of ways for you to participate and show your support.

Special events

With these events the emphasis is just as much on having fun as it is on supporting the cause. We organise annual sponsored bike rides to France (Pedal to Paris), as well as the annual celebration of St George's Day at St George's Hanover Square and the sell-out Christmas Celebration at Guildhall. The Legion enjoys strong links with the racing fraternity and benefits from charitable sponsorship on race days at a number of racecourses.

And to mark our Patron HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, we're holding a concert in St George's Chapel Windsor. Follow this link for details in our online calendar of events. 

Individual Events

If you are planning your own individual sporting or challenge event to support The Royal British Legion, please inform our Fundraising Team. One easy way to help is to hold an Honour Walk as we've prepared a handy organisers pack to guide you all the way.

Golfing Events

For those with an interest in golf, there is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy your golf in a competitive manner and also demonstrate your support for The Royal British Legion by taking part in the Poppy Appeal Golf programme.

And for 2011 we have introduced a Junior Golf challenge!

Gold charity challenge

If you'd like to get involved in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games then why not challenge yourself and raise money for the Legion at the same time. The Gold Challenge is a nationwide project to encourage people to undertake Olympic and Paralympic Sports and the Legion is one of its official charities. 

You can sign up as an individual or part of a team and take part in 5, 10, 15 or 20 different Olympic or Paralympic sports - either to improve your existing expertise or to try something entirely new!

We have 100 places available and encourage people all over the country to sign up on the website and start raising money for us - and you have a whole year in which to do it.
