Bringing the importance of Remembrance to schools and young people

Learning about Remembrance

Remembrance Travel for Schools and Young People

Cadets at a Normandy war cemeteryAs the national custodian of Remembrance, The Royal British Legion believes that Remembrance should be used to educate people about the realities of conflict, those that are affected by wars and the importance of peace.

We therefore provide tours in Europe and the UK, designed to bring the past to life and to give students and youth groups a direct and memorable experience of history and culture, tailored to their curriculum or interests.

Each tour is led by ex-Service men and women, who have been specially trained to guide, communicate and work with schools and young people

Our tours are designed to bring the past to life. Our aim is that students understand the sites they visit not as monuments to people of the past, but as living memories to help us understand and reflect on the present.

Tours are planned to match your school's requirements and there are familiarisation trips for teachers and education staff throughout the year.
