Poppy Travel for Schools and Young People

Cadets at a Normandy war cemeteryPoppy Travel is the travel division of The Royal British Legion. As the national custodian of Remembrance, The Royal British Legion and Poppy Travel believe that Remembrance should be used to inform people about the realities of conflict, those that are affected by wars and the importance of peace.

Poppy Travel for Schools and Young People arranges specialist tours to real battlefields and war cemeteries that provide young people, students and teachers with an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and to understand and participate in Remembrance and how lives are affected by conflict.

Our tours are designed to bring the past to life. Our aim is that students understand the sites they visit not as monuments to people of the past, but as living memories to help us understand and reflect on the present.

Tours are planned to match your school's requirements and led by specialist guides, all of whom have experience of working with young people. Tours are currently being offered in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Southern Italy and Poland and there are familiarisation trips for teachers and education staff throughout the year.
