Poppy Postcards

Following the success of our postcard project in the past 2 years, we have five new postcard designs available for 2011. The cards have been designed to give children and young people the opportunity to write and send their own personal messages of support and Remembrance to injured Service personnel, bereaved Armed Forces families and veterans of all ages. There is no deadline for receipt of the completed cards as they will be distributed throughout the year.

Please download some or all of the 5 postcard designs shown here. They are A5 size and you will need to print them out on heavy card (double sided) if you wish to use the preprinted return address supplied on the reverse of the postcard. To download a postcard, click on a thumbnail below. This will open a pdf file which can then be saved to your desktop (or other location) and then printed.

Or if you prefer, click here to order hard copies of the postcards, and be sure to include the number of postcards you require. Cards will be dispatched within 48 hours of receipt of your order.

There has been a great response to our postcards in previous years so thank you to everyone who participated.

Video report on our postcards

The video below shows how one school participated in our postcard project in 2009.

George Taylor on Blue Peter

George Taylor at Silence in the Square 2009Our youngest campaigner, George Taylor, recently appeared on Blue Peter to talk about his work with the Legion. George was the face of our Poppy Postcards Project 2010 and features on one of the cards.

George is passionate about improving the lives of war veterans and ensuring young people know why we commemorate Remembrance Day. In the clip below, we see him collecting money for the Poppy Appeal at a local football club, meeting a veteran in a care home and chatting to The Saturdays at the 2010 Poppy Appeal launch at Colchester Garrison.
