I am trying to trace my father whether alive or deceased.
My father was born on the 25/11/1919 in Tottenham London. He joined the Dorsetshire regiment, around 1937/8 he was posted to Malta, he married a Maltese Lady called Carmen Micallef at Hamrun Parish Church Malta, on 02/07/1941 at the age of 21.
he was friends with an Arthur Turner who was also in the Dorsetshire Regiment and possibly his best man Arthur Turner was sadly killed during the second World War,
after the war he served in the Maltese police force.
he made frequent trips to Germany after the war, both as army personel, and as a civilian.
he left the family home in Malta, around mid to late1960's
and as far as I know made a new life in Germany with a German lady. since then there has been no contact from him.
we did have some information regarding the possible death of my father by the Salvation Army, they said that somone of my fathers name died on the 05/10/1991 but there was no corresponding death certificate, in the British records, they felt the death may have been registered abroad, is there anyone who could give any information of my father, or any suggestions please on how to proceed.
