Mobility Aids & Equipment Grants

If you need help getting around then the Legion may be able to provide an electrically powered mobility vehicle, scooter, or buggy.

Who is eligible?

The Legion's EPV scheme is available to any Legion beneficiary who has a genuine need for one of our vehicles.

Before you apply for the scheme you should check whether you are eligible for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Armed Forces Independent Payment (AFIP), or Disability Living Allowance (DLA) mobility component to help fund your mobility needs.

You may also be able to use your PIP, AFIP, or DLA mobility component to get a car or mobility vehicle as part of the Motability scheme.

Visit our Knowledge base for more information on mobility vehicles for Legion beneficiaries.

Veterans mobility Fund

The Legion's Veterans Mobility Fund can assist veterans who have a Service-related serious physical injury who fall outside the MOD provision for wheelchairs or whose warranty has expired. Find out about VMF more here.

Home adaptation

To support mobility within the home, we also offer advice and support to receive grants and funding for home adaptations.

This can include:

  • Stair rails or a stair lift
  • Ramps installed
  • Doors widened or rehung
  • Bathroom and kitchen adaptations.

Visit our Knowledge base for more information on living aids, equipment and adaptations.
