Postgraduate scholarship to Korea
For those finishing university who would like to continue studying, the Legion funds a unique opportunity for postgraduates to study in South Korea.
Applications are open for the Postgraduate Scholarship to Korea 2016, offered through the partnership of Samsung, The Royal British Legion and the British Korean Veterans Association. Graduates from any discipline can apply to live and study in South Korea for up to two years.
The scholarship was established in memory of those who gave their lives during the Korean War (1950-53) and aims to strengthen relationship between Britain and South Korea. Administered by The Royal British Legion, the scheme has been running since 1995 with students from all walks of life taking part.
The scholarship is a fixed sum and can be used to cover:
- An intensive Korean language course in the UK before departure
- An open return flight to South Korea
- University course fees
- Contribution to accommodation costs
- One return flight to the UK during the study period.
Postgraduate courses are conducted in English. Previous winners have taken degrees as diverse as Chinese, Japanese, Politics, Economics and Law in British universities before choosing post-graduate courses to study in Korea.

Applications should be submitted by 18 December 2015.
