We understand that the Coronavirus outbreak means everyone’s focus is on keeping themselves, their families and friends, safe and well.

You may have had fundraising plans that have been postponed. But if you’re looking for ways to keep occupied and active, here are some great ideas to give your days at home a fresh focus while supporting our Armed Forces community.

You’ll find ideas from clearing your clutter to sharing skills. All of our ideas can be started in the safety of your home, but some need internet access to simple apps.

Your support is appreciated more than ever as the Royal British Legion supports some of the most vulnerable people in society. The requests we are receiving for help now are as complex as ever, with people facing financial, housing, emotional and health crises.

We are expanding and adapting our work to meet these challenges in many ways such as:

  • Increasing the number of staff in our six care homes and specialist dementia units to ensure our homes can withstand the challenges resulting from Coronavirus
  • Expanding our Benefit, Debt and Money Advice service to meet increased demand
  • Launching a Telephone Buddies services, operated by RBL volunteers to offer friendship and practical support to vulnerable people.

We will ensure that those who have served and made sacrifices for us receive the help that they need no matter what.

We are here to help

If you’re taking part in one of our organised fundraising events, we are pleased to offer more time to meet your fundraising target so you can sign up with more confidence. For more information or support with fundraising ideas or our events, please call 0333 011 4500 or email events@britishlegion.org.uk

Remember to always stay safe by following the current government guidelines on social distancing.
