Picnic season has arrived so let’s make some sandwiches, pack the basket and throw a Poppy Picnic in support of The Royal British Legion this summer. Get involved with picnickers across the country to raise funds for our Armed Forces community.
Let's picnic Britain
Hosting a Poppy Picnic is a fun and simple way to get together with friends and family and raise much-needed funds our welfare work. Everyone can pitch in and bring something along, from homemade cakes to shop-bought snacks and games for all the family.
Register your picnic and we’ll send you a free Poppy Picnic Kit to help you get started
Before anyone tucks in, make sure they donate £3 each – you can include a free drink or tasty treat. Then ask for contributions to food, games and any fun you organise on the day.
When you register, we'll send you a free picnic pack which includes invitations, posters, stickers, picnic bingo cards and more. Download extra copies below if you need more!
Remember to let all your friends and family know about your Poppy Picnic – Facebook and Twitter are also great ways to spread the news. Keep an eye on our updates at Poppy Legion on Facebook or Twitter (@PoppyLegion) and don’t forget to use #poppypicnic.
For any additional fundraising materials please get in touch at email@example.com and make sure you include your postal address!
See below for some tried and tested suggestions for fundraising. Everyone loves fancy dress competitions or a tug of war – don’t forget them at your Poppy Picnic!
- Face painting: a great one for the kids, whether they want Spiderman or a butterfly, it's sure to brighten their day.
- Bake sale: they'll sell like hot cakes! Charging a small fee for sweet treats at your Poppy Picnic is a great way to make a little bit of extra cash for a great cause.
- Rounders match: get together with a group of friends and organise a game of rounders, a great way to spend a summer afternoon in the park, and everyone knows the rules.
- Races: classic egg and spoon, three-legged, space hopper or sack races? There are lots of other silly races you can organise: high on fun, laughter and money-raising potential.
