The area covered by Group 4 stretches from the Malvern Hills down to the River Severn at Upton. The Hills are well known and are a walkers' paradise and with breathtaking views to the east, across the Severn Valley and to the west across Herefordshire to Wales and the Black Mountains. Malvern is famous for its water, a favourites of the Queen and free to anyone who comes to Malvern. Bring your own bottle; the water pours out of the hills and its purity is guaranteed. Malvern is also famous for its theatres with West End productions.
Between the hills and the river Severn lies the village of Hanley Swan with its village green, oak tree and pond with swans and ducks. Beyond lies Upton upon Severn, probably but unfortunately, better known for its flooding caused by the River Severn. Upton is a small town of 2,500 population which comes alive each summer with festivals, jazz, marching bands, Morris Dancers and many more attractions. It is also an annual contender for the National competition for 'The Town in Bloom' title. The whole town is bedecked with flags and flowers - a sight not to be missed. The Legion takes an active part in community projects and also organises the Remembrance Day activities annually.
