County Rally 2011

The County Rally this year was Hosted by the Lickey End Branch and became a major part of their Party in the Park to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion. This proved to be not only a very successful event but it was extremely well placed to provide for free car parking on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was good and we attracted a good attendance to the Party which helped raise much needed funds for the branch and the Poppy Appeal as well.

The Parade commenced at 13.30 which was followed by a Drumhead Service with the Pesnett Boy's Brigade providing the Marching music and the Blackwell Concert Band played for the Hymns. The Service was led by the County Padre, Canon David Salt and the 90th Year Prayer was led by the Lickey End Branch Padre, Neil Bennett.

This was followed by the Party in the Park entertainments and the opening of the Stalls where visitors spent so generously and also learned what the Legion has been doing for 90 years.

The following pictures can be purchased in return for a Donation to the Poppy Appeal. Please contact alan@alkel.co.uk
