Legion in the Community
The Royal British Legion plays an active role in the local
community, and we rely on the help of our members to carry out our
work in their local areas. There are many ways people can help and
become involved, and it is essential to our work for the serving
and ex-Service community.
To raise public awareness of what the Legion does in our
community and encourage more people to get involved with the
welfare and membership activities of the Legion, we participate in
various events and activities such as:
- County Shows
- Local Fetes/Fairs
- Open Evenings
- Concerts
- Armed Forces Day (previously Veterans Day)
- attending Carnivals, Military Air Shows & Military Open
Days.
If you have an event planned then let County HQ know all about
it. The 'Legion in the Community' (LIC) scheme is a perfect
opportunity to publicise your Royal British Legion event.
Get in touch with the County Office on ssadler@britishlegion.org.uk
if you want to know more about 'Legion in the Community'. LIC
briefings can be delivered at your Group or Branch Meetings. Don't
be shy invite him along!
Check out our News and Events
section for details of planned events.
How to get involved
If you would like to get involved in any of the Legion in the
Community activities, you can! We are always looking for new
members and volunteers to get involved in our fundraising and
welfare work.
Alternatively, you may be interested in getting involved in one
of the many Legion in the Community events or social activities
held throughout the year.
Whether you are Serving, ex-Service or have no links with the
Regular Armed Forces or Reserves, The Royal British Legion always
gives new members and volunteers a warm and friendly welcome.
